Eduardo Perozo

Principal Investigator, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Institute for Biophysical Dynamics, The University of Chicago

The Perozo Lab studies the dynamics and conformational rearrangements of ion channels. As a result, we have developed expertise in electrophysiological measurements (including single molecule patch clamp analyses), reporter group spectroscopic approaches (EPR, Fluorescence), X-ray crystallography and membrane protein biochemistry/liposome reconstitution methods. Dr. Perozo coordinates the Membrane Protein Structural Dynamics Project and works with the executive committee to set priorities and allocate project funding and resources. He is also an active participant in the Membrane Protein Purification Expression Core, the Pilot 1 project dedicated towards the Structural Dynamics of Hormone-Receptor Action, and the Bridge 4 Dynamics of Ion Permeation and Conformational Coupling.
